Luxembourg Entities Customs Manager

For our Ferrero HQ in Luxembourg we are currently seeking a FTL Senior Customs Manager within the Finance organization, responsible for leading and governing all customs compliance activities belonging to Ferrero Trading Lux, which is the biggest company within the Ferrero Group performing all kind of customs activities (i.e. import, export, application of Special Regimes, use of customs simplifications etc) across the EU. 

This position brings deep expertise in international trade and customs, paired with a strong understanding of business dynamics, to ensure full regulatory compliance while proactively driving duty optimization and supporting efficient cross-border operations. Acting as a strategic partner to the business, the role enables compliant, agile, and resilient cross-border flows in an increasingly complex and evolving trade environment. 

Thanks to your experience in customs, you will own the local customs risk management and compliance framework, covering classification, origin, valuation and FTA eligibility. You will identify and assess customs risk exposures, drive mitigation and corrective actions, oversee customs controls and broker activities, and support duty optimisation and the effective use of preferential trade agreements. You will also manage audits, regulatory developments and relationships with customs authorities, external advisors and industry bodies, translating regulatory requirements into clear policies and business processes. 

You will lead the digital transformation and technology enablement of customs processes by defining requirements and governance for customs digital tools, driving automation, data quality and standardisation, and enabling analytics and reporting on duty spend, FTA utilisation and risk indicators. You will also define and continuously evolve customs policies, SOPs, procedures and internal control standards, ensuring consistent implementation across the region and alignment between Group standards and local requirements. 

You will contribute to building and developing FTL’s customs capabilities, leading and coaching team members where applicable, and supporting knowledge sharing and training. Working closely with Group Finance, Tax, Customs and Internal Audit, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial, Legal, Risk & Compliance, IT and external service providers, you will oversee customs execution quality, compliance KPIs, issue management, broker performance and the regional customs operating model. 

You have a Master’s degree in Finance, Trade, Law, Supply Chain or an equivalent field, together with minimum 10 years of experience in customs and trade compliance within multinational environments, with exposure to FMCG, EU customs regulations, trade agreements, duty optimisation strategies, broker and provider governance, and audits, inquiries and remediation with authorities. 

Thanks to your experience in customs and trade compliance, you will bring strong customs governance and operating model design skills, including policies, controls and KPIs, together with technical expertise in classification, origin and valuation. You will have a strong analytical and problem-solving approach, attention to detail and risk awareness, as well as experience in stakeholder management, matrix environments, strategic decision-making and data governance and automation. 

You have strong knowledge of WTO, valuation and trade frameworks, with additional trade/customs certifications considered a plus. You are  fluent in English and Italian languages. 

You have experience in in-house Customs/Trade Compliance Manager roles or Manager/Senior Manager roles within professional services firms, focused on Global Trade, Customs or Trade Compliance transformation. Experience with multi-country, high-volume cross-border operations will also support the role.
