Business Intelligence & Commercial Planning Manager

The role of Business Intelligence & Commercial Planning Manager transforms commercial and market data into actionable business insights that support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth. This role plays a critical part in driving forecasting accuracy, identifying growth opportunities, optimizing inventory planning, and enabling cross-functional teams to make informed commercial decisions. The position partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and external distributor partners to deliver data-driven recommendations that support business performance and execution.
- Analyze commercial, market, customer, and channel performance data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities
- Develop and maintain recurring and ad hoc business reports, dashboards, scorecards, and presentations
- Generate actionable insights from sell-in, sell-out, retail audit, POS, and market data sources
- Monitor competitor activity, category performance, shopper trends, and market dynamics
- Evaluate promotional and seasonal activations, measuring effectiveness and recommending future actions
- Translate complex data into clear business stories and recommendations for leadership and commercial teams
- Support category, channel, and customer planning through insight generation and performance analysis
- Lead annual volume planning and pre-budget forecasting processes at SKU and monthly levels
- Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to validate customer plans and align commercial assumptions with business objectives
- Develop forecasting baselines by SKU and channel, incorporating promotional impacts and market trends
- Monitor forecast accuracy and recommend corrective actions to improve business performance
- Assess commercial plans, promotional activities, and customer initiatives to ensure feasibility and alignment with strategic priorities
- Identify forecast risks and inventory implications, escalating issues and recommending mitigation plans when required
- Continuously monitor sales performance, market developments, inventory levels, product freshness, and service levels
- Track KPIs and business performance against targets, highlighting gaps and opportunities
- Support the evaluation of trade activities, pricing, distribution, shelf execution, and promotional effectiveness
- Maintain and improve data collection, reporting methodologies, and performance tracking frameworks
- Build performance repositories and benchmarks to support future commercial planning and decision-making
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and external partners to align business plans and forecasts
- Provide analytical support for business reviews, strategic projects, and commercial decision-making
- Influence stakeholders through data-driven recommendations and compelling presentations
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance culture by driving fact-based discussions and continuous improvement
- Strong relevant experience in business intelligence, commercial planning, sales analytics, revenue growth management, demand planning, or related functions
- Experience within FMCG, consumer goods, retail, market research, or related industries
- Proven track record in forecasting, business planning, and commercial performance management
- Strong experience analyzing sell-in, sell-out, retail, customer, and market data
- Strategic mindset with strong business acumen, with ability to balance attention to detail with big-picture thinking
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, excellent project management and organizational skills
- Strong ability to consolidate information from multiple data sources into meaningful insights and recommendations
- Deep understanding of forecasting methodologies and commercial planning processes
- Ability to communicate complex data and insights in a clear, compelling manner
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across functions and within a matrix organization
- Advanced MS Office skills, experience with data visualization and reporting tools
- Experience with Nielsen or similar syndicated data platforms is highly desirable
- Fluent Korean and English communication skills, with the ability to present business insights effectively in both languages
