As the Business Intelligence & Consumer Insights Manager, you play a critical role in turning data into meaningful insights that drive brand growth and inform strategic decisions. In this unique position, you blend syndicated market intelligence with custom consumer research to influence both short- and long-term brand performance.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging your marketing expertise, analytical skills, and consultative approach to uncover actionable insights, shape marketing strategies, and make an impact.
In this role, you apply analytic rigor to transform data into clear narratives and recommendations. You collaborate with internal partners and external research vendors to ensure insights are well-socialized and fully integrated into business planning. You generate consumer learnings that guide key elements of the marketing mix—pricing, packaging, promotion, and communication strategies—for both in-market and innovation products.
You bring a balance of strategic thinking and technical research capability across a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including concept testing, communications testing, packaging and graphics testing, price testing, segmentation, attitude and usage studies, and in-market tracking. You also manage research budgets and ensure projects are executed with excellence.
This role is hybrid, and will be based out of our North American HQ in Parsippany, NJ or Chicago, IL.
- Integrate insights from multiple data sources to identify brand barriers and opportunities
- Conduct comprehensive category & situation assessments
- Identify emerging consumer and marketplace trends which impact brand performance
- Lead monthly (quad-week) sales performance reporting & innovation tracking
- Perform root-cause analysis to diagnose business performance & uncover actionable drivers
- Conduct advanced consumer panel analytics, including penetration deep dives and cohort analysis
- Support marketing & trade mix optimization (MMM) to drive ROI
- Evaluate in-market advertising effectiveness and longer-term brand equity tracking to identify optimization and growth opportunities
- Define consumer research needs, manage associated budgets, and partner with external vendors to design and execute high-quality research
- Manage research projects ensuring delivery on time, in budget, and meeting stakeholder expectations
- Identify emerging tools, methodologies, and technologies to strengthen the organization’s insights capability and drive competitive advantage
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or related fields; client-side experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of NIQ or Circana syndicated tools/systems and experience with major research vendors (e.g., Ipsos, Kantar, Milward Brown, GFK, etc.)
- Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Proficiency in marketing metrics and questionnaire design
- Experience in data coding and tabulation and an understanding of univariate and multivariate statistics
- Strong storytelling and presentation skills
- Superb interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships in a matrix environment and influence key stakeholders to drive strategic decisions
- Excellent project management and vendor management skills with attention to detail and executional excellence
The base salary range for this position is $140,523 - $187,367 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
