About the Role:

As the Consumer Research Manager for the Keebler brand and On-the-Go (OTG) product category teams in the USA, you will play a pivotal role in driving the brand's success. You will be responsible for generating consumer insights that inform marketing mix decisions, such as price, pack, promotion, and communication (TV, digital, graphic, etc.) for both in-market and innovation products. Your expertise will directly influence significant investments in advertising and promotion, impacting substantial net sales. Leveraging your strong marketing acumen, commercial understanding, and analytical skills, you will drive strategic decisions and utilize your consultative skills and strategic thinking to influence key stakeholders. You will apply your basic understanding of statistics and proficiency across a broad range of quantitative and qualitative research methods, including concept testing, food sensory evaluation, communication testing, packaging and graphics testing, price testing, test marketing, segmentation, and attitude and usage testing. Additionally, you will oversee the purchase and execution of research spending to achieve objectives and directly influence the investment in advertising and promotion spending.
This role is hybrid and will be based in our Chicago, IL offices.
Main Responsibilities:
- PS5 Planning: Support annual brand situation assessment (Insights Day) and deliver consumer insights which define opportunities to drive growth as input to PS5 Plans. Identify trends which will impact brand performance short and long term.
- Research Planning and Budgeting: In collaboration with the brand teams, define consumer research needs with respect to brand strategies, budget for those needs, and execute plan within budget. Identify capability gaps, emerging needs, and new technologies that will create competitive advantage.
- Proposal Development: Consult with clients to clearly define insights needs and identify the right approach to research. Collaborate with appropriate vendors to develop research proposals that answer business questions.
- Vendor Management: Brief, evaluate, select, and manage vendors to deliver results.
- Project and Stakeholder Management: Manage projects with respect to timing, budget, agreed deliverables, and needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Inform and Influence: Analyze results and communicate in a clear and compelling manner to influence decisions.
- Integrate Learning: Integrate learning across multiple sources (retail sales, household panel, social media, media data, marketing mix etc.) to understand brand barriers and opportunities.
- Advertising Tracking and Equity Measurement: Lead quarterly reviews on in-market advertising performance from GAT. Train and develop marketing team in accessing and applying brand performance tracking information. Lead analysis of the BVC equity measurement tool to identify growth opportunities.
Who we are looking for:
- 4-7 years of experience in consumer research or a related field.
- A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, statistics, or a related discipline, master's degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Experience with Ipsos, Kantar IRI, Milward Brown, GFK, various Qual/Quant Agencies, and working with ad agency partners
- Proficiency in marketing metrics and questionnaire design.
- Experience with data coding and tabulation.
- Understanding of univariate and multivariate statistics.
- Expertise in brand building and strategic planning.
- Strong project management and vendor management skills.
- Ability to influence key stakeholders and drive strategic decisions.
Compensation Data
The base salary range for this position is $102,289.00 - $136,385.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
