FSQ Microbiology Analyst
We have a current opening for a FSQ Microbiology Analyst and are actively reviewing applications.
The FSQ Microbiology Analyst performs microbiological testing and related laboratory activities in accordance with approved methods, laboratory procedures, and ISO/IEC 17025 principles. This role supports laboratory operations by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant execution of analyses, maintaining data integrity, and escalating deviations or atypical results to laboratory leadership.
Schedule:
- Tuesday- Saturday, 7a-3p
- Flexibility required based on lab activities
Laboratory Day to Day Operations
- Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, semi-finished product, finished product, and environmental samples per validated methods aligned with ISO 17025 principles, industry and Ferrero group requirements.
- Perform daily activities of the microbiology lab including but not limited to:
- Sample receiving
- Quantitative and Qualitative method analysis
- Sample preparation
- Sample homogenization
- Laboratory sanitation
- Media Preparation
- Plate reading and colony count
- Data Submission
- Participant in lab bucket rotation for routine activities
- Perform compliance in daily workflows, equipment usage, efficiency support and compliance with all laboratory SOPs.
Technical Support
• Support laboratory Process/Project activities, including implementation of improvements and continuous improvement initiatives, as assigned.
• Provide data and technical input to laboratory leadership during investigations or deviation assessments.
• Support method validation, verification, and proficiency testing activities as assigned, including sample preparation, testing, and documentation.
• Demonstrate Attention to detail for data analysis and interpretation, ensuring data integrity, accurate data entry and compliant result reporting
Lab Program Compliance Support
- Contribute compliance to all required laboratory management programs per Ferrero Group and ISO 17025 accreditation requirements. Including but not limited to:
- Proficiency testing
- Data Reporting
- Equipment Calibration and PM Program
- Data Review (as approved)
- Intermediate equipment and lab programs verifications
- Facilities/Utility management
- Consumable inventory system
- Report program and process Non-Conformances and give support to leadership for RCA/CAPA investigation.
- Support Program and Process Continuous Improvement initiatives through participation, data collection, and execution of assigned actions.
- Perform Laboratory Safety activities in accordance with procedures, including safe work practices and management of hazardous waste
- Support laboratory document control activities, including use of controlled procedures, accurate record completion, and adherence to revision requirements.
- Escalate non-conformances and deviations to lab leadership for corrective actions.
- B.S. Degree in Microbiology or related field
- 2+ years progressive experience in a Microbiological Laboratory Environment
Administrative:
- Strong communication skills in a multi-cultural environment. Good knowledge of MS office. SAP experience preferred. Strong organizational and time‑management skills; ability to follow procedures, document activities accurately, and communicate effectively in a laboratory and manufacturing environment. Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills; ability to influence cross functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Laboratory Science & Methods (Microbiological):
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 principles as applicable to testing activities, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and microbiological methods used in food analysis (e.g., indicator organisms, pathogens, allergen ELISA. Ability to perform sample preparation, testing, data recording, and preliminary result review in accordance with approved methods and procedures, with escalation of atypical or nonconforming results.
Systems, Tools & Data Management:
- Experience using Quality modules (inspection lots, sampling plans, usage decisions, NC creation and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS): master data, role permissions, instrument integration, result entry, and report generation. Understanding of statistical techniques used for quality control (SPC, capability, trend analysis). Understanding of basic data integrity expectations and accurate recordkeeping in accordance with laboratory procedures.

The base compensation range for this position is $55,000.00 - $65,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
