At Ferrero, we're passionate about creating iconic brands loved around the world. Behind every product is a high-performing manufacturing site, and we're looking for a Facilities & Utilities Engineer to help keep ours operating safely, efficiently and sustainably.

Based at our Alfreton manufacturing site, you'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our site facilities and utilities. Working closely with the Facilities & Utilities Manager and wider Maintenance team, you'll support the ongoing performance and reliability of critical systems including steam, water, compressed air, HVAC and air handling units (AHUs).

You will play an active role in engineering projects, equipment installations and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to improve plant performance, energy efficiency and equipment reliability. You'll manage and coordinate specialist contractors and service providers, maintain accurate maintenance records and spare parts inventories, and ensure all work is completed in line with statutory requirements, engineering standards and company procedures. In addition, you'll collaborate with Production, Environmental and Engineering teams to ensure site facilities remain compliant, safe and fit for purpose, always upholding the highest standards of Food Safety, Health & Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice.

You are a proactive and solutions-focused engineer with a passion for maintaining and improving industrial facilities and utility systems. You'll have experience working within a manufacturing, food production or industrial environment and hold a Level 3 qualification or above in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or possess equivalent practical experience. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy diagnosing technical issues and take pride in delivering high-quality engineering solutions that improve operational performance.

You'll bring strong technical knowledge of facilities and utilities, including steam generation and distribution, compressed air, water services, HVAC, air handling units and building infrastructure. You'll be confident carrying out mechanical fault finding, interpreting technical information and applying preventative maintenance principles to maximise equipment reliability. A good understanding of engineering compliance, statutory inspections and Health & Safety legislation is essential, along with experience managing contractors and working collaboratively across multiple departments. Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, combined with a continuous improvement mindset, will enable you to make a real impact and contribute to the ongoing success of the Alfreton site.
