ANZ BU Commercial Controller
The ANZ Business Unit Commercial Controller is responsible for leading financial planning, controlling, and reporting activities across the Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) cluster. The role ensures the integrity of financial data, supports business decision-making, and drives performance through insightful analysis across commercial and industrial areas. This position partners closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate forecasts, monitor performance, and identify value creation opportunities across the value chain.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across the ANZ cluster, ensuring alignment with Group guidelines and timelines
- Consolidate and validate financial data from multiple functions including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Overheads
- Perform in-depth analysis of financial performance (actual vs budget/forecast), identifying risks, opportunities, and improvement areas
- Deliver monthly and year-end closing activities, including variance analysis across pricing, margins, supply chain, overheads, and investments
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business decisions and achievement of financial targets
- Monitor and control key financial indicators including customer/channel performance, gross-to-net evolution, and cost structures
- Support pricing strategy evaluation and financial impact analysis
- Oversee budget control for marketing, trade spend, and investments, ensuring compliance with approved guidelines
- Manage cash flow and balance sheet performance, including monitoring DSO, DIO, and DPO, and recommending improvement actions
- Ensure compliance with Group financial policies, procedures, and reporting standards
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and regional controlling teams to align on assumptions, results, and corrective actions
- Contribute to transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects across finance and business functions
- Support contract validation in line with delegated authorities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals, foster an inclusive and high-performance culture aligned with company values
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; professional qualification (CPA, CA, MBA or equivalent) preferred
- Extensive experience in financial planning & analysis, controlling, or commercial finance within a complex, matrix environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights
- Solid understanding of financial systems, planning tools, and reporting platforms (e.g. SAP, ERP systems, BI tools)
- High level of system knowledge and data management skills to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial information
- Strong business partnering mindset with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
