Plant Quality Manager
- Managing the overall quality agenda at the plant and country
- Apply the Ferrero regional model for escalation, definition of priorities and strategic projects.
- Ensures the efficient and effective implementation, maintenance and application of Plant Quality System according to the Policy defined by Group Quality (product excellence, Food Safety, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and to similar schemes required by the Group and clients), and based on the risk analysis according to HACCP method
- Ensuring compliance of Ferrero Walkerville with applicable food safety regulatory requirements, with the voluptuary certification schemes (FSSC22000 and ISO 9001), with Ferrero global Quality Requirements and Policies, and with Industry Best Practices.
- Managing and developing Quality staff & Budget
- Lead the RCA & CAPAs for all quality and food safety risks, product non-conformities, and issues on a daily basis
- Driving continuous improvement through management of CAPA and in close contact with the plant Industrial excellence program (FOX)
- Maintaining all the certifications required by the Group and clients (food safety, quality system, product system, ethic and religion, product). Implementing new certifications as required by group strategy.
- Connect with the markets for managing claims and feedback (consumer complaints, perceived quality, initiatives at regional level), both in relation to finished product and complaints from products distributed in the country.
- Implement projects and Action Plans for achieving objectives (KPIs).
- Gathers, applies and maintains updated all the internal regulations (Specifications, frameworks, Sampling plans) and external ones (voluntary and mandatory regulations) related to products, processes and linked structures
- Leads the correct application of Ferrero Quality System, quality certifications and legal standards (marketability), in overall productive process. Generate GAP analysis and implementation plan
- Ensuring the compliance of 3rd party Logistics suppliers to Ferrero policies and procedures
- Managing and developing Quality staff & Budget

- Performs regular monitoring of parameters that might affect product and materials reaction on different production line
- For all process phase and for each single step, defines working and controlling guidelines, Function size, definition of the possibility to influence variables and cycle parameters
Qualifications & Experience:
For this role we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:
- Academic: A 3-year degree, National Diploma, or Postgraduate in Quality Management, Microbiology, Food Science & Technology or Biotechnology
- Certifications: Occupational Certificate: Quality Manager (NQF Level 6), HACCP, Internal Auditor ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, or Six Sigma.
- Industry Experience: 5+ years in quality roles, particularly within manufacturing, engineering, or food safety.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of SA OHS regulations, auditing, and quality management systems.
- Industry Specifics: Food science degrees are often required for FMCG, while engineering degrees are preferred for manufacturing.
