We have a current opening for a Junior Technologist and are actively reviewing applications.

  • Candidate will play a supporting role in the research, development, and improvement of food products and processes at our Louisville production site.
  • Candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams internal to the plant, such as production, quality, maintenance and the warehouse team while also occasionally supporting external functions to the plant such as R&D, corporate quality, and procurement. You will ensure that our food products are safe, high-quality, and aligned with both regulatory standards and consumer expectations.
  • Candidate is expected to support the industrialization of new recipes, optimizing formulations, supporting sensory evaluations, and ensuring compliance with food safety

This role requires both scientific knowledge and creative thinking to bring new and improved food products from concept to market, while also playing a key supporting role to daily production activities and tasks

  • Hours/ Schedule: 7:30am to 4:00pm Mon-Fri
  • Occasional off-shift support on an as-needed basis

Can vary based on production needs, new machine installations, line support and training

The Jr. Technologist reports to the Sr. Technologist

  • Knowledge of, and skill in, Organoleptic Testing (relating to sensory organs – taste);
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment, industrial food processing and packaging technology, standard operating procedures, health & safety, quality standards and work instructions, industrial installations.
  • Responsible for data collection and system analysis for the processes relating to the results of the finished goods
  • Define, measure, analyze, improve, and control line parameters or centerlines for processing and packaging technology
  • Responsible for affecting necessary changes to ensure product composition is maintained within specifications
  • Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form
  • Share knowledge about developing the product specification/requirements with plant Production and Quality Department
  • Assist in procedure and SOP creation and implementation
  • In collaboration with Quality, organizes and participates in products or material verification sample sessions and assist in the recording of results of production samples
  • Develop, compile and analyze sampling results and support Production and Quality to define/determine corrective action
  • Be a point of contact for the Technology department within the assigned production unit
  • Support maintenance, quality and production by advising on operational procedures and how that machinery may impact our product’s performance
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field at a minimum
  • 1-3 years experience
  • Preferred background in food science, food engineering or process engineering. Technical or data background is advantageous for this role.
