Customer Marketing Analyst, Target

The Customer Marketing Analyst – Target serves as a strategic business partner to the Target sales team, delivering data-driven insights, financial analysis, and compelling business storytelling to drive profitable growth. This role is responsible for proactively identifying opportunities, monitoring business performance, and translating data into actionable recommendations that influence customer strategy, joint business planning, and innovation initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capability with commercial acumen and the ability to clearly communicate insights in both internal and customer-facing settings.
This position is remote, with the ideal candidate based in Minneapolis, MN; Chicago, IL; or Parsippany, NJ.
Business & Customer Insights
- Mine and synthesize customer and syndicated data (Circana, TCN, POL, etc.) to develop insights and growth recommendations
- Lead analytics for business reviews, line reviews, innovation sessions, seasonal presentations, JBP and Top-to-Top meetings
- Analyze seasonal sell-through to provide forward-looking recommendations
Financial & Trade Performance Management
- Analyze trade spend against volume, revenue, and profitability targets
- Evaluate promotional effectiveness and ROI
- Monitor KPIs and maintain Target JBP scorecard aligned to key financial metrics
- Provide visibility to trade investment, volume delivery, innovation performance, and channel KPIs
Scorecards & Reporting
- Develop and maintain dynamic scorecards to monitor business performance
- Create clear, executive-ready presentations that translate analysis into business implications (JBP-True, Channel MBR)
- Complete ad hoc analysis to support sales leadership decision-making
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Actively participate in annual planning and forecast processes
- Attend customer meetings alongside the Account Manager as needed, contributing analytical perspective and recommendations
- Partner with Sales, Channel Marketing, Finance, Trade Marketing, Category Management, and Broker teams
- At least 3 years at a CPG company preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, M.B.A. is a plus
- Knowledge of Circana, TCN, POL
- Knowledge of SAPTM is a bonus
- Category management experience is preferred
- Strong math, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Detailed oriented with solid planning and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a proactive and timely manner
- Ability to generate positive relationships and foster a team environment
- Good communication skills, including strong writing and presentation skills
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel approximately 10%

The base salary range for this position is $89,000.00 - $118,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
