Junior Key Account Manager
As a Junior Key Account Manager (Modern Trade Channel), you will be responsible for managing a selected portfolio of retail banners, contributing to the delivery of sales growth and profitability. You will support the development and execution of customer business plans, ensure in-store execution, and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive commercial performance across your accounts.
1. Banner Ownership & Account Management
• Manage a selected portfolio of Modern Trade banners, acting as the primary point of contact for day-to-day commercial operations.
• Build strong, professional relationships with banner counterparts to ensure smooth collaboration and execution.
• Ensure full implementation of centrally negotiated agreements within assigned banners.
• Escalate strategic or complex negotiations to the Senior Key Account Manager when required.
2. Business Planning & Performance Management
• Deliver annual sales targets for assigned Modern Trade accounts, including volume, value and profitability, in line with approved business plans and budgets.
• Monitor sales performance versus targets, identifying risks and opportunities by banner and by category.
• Propose and implement corrective action plans in coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Prepare and lead regular performance reviews for assigned banners.
3. Promotion & Trade Spend Management
• Plan, execute and follow up promotional activities in line with banner calendars and Ferrero activity grid.
• Ensure optimal allocation and efficient use of trade spend within approved budgets.
• Track promotional performance and ROI, and share learnings to improve future activations.
• Ensure accurate documentation and validation of promotional agreements and claims.
4. Assortment, Listing & Launch Execution
• Manage assortments for assigned banners in line with channel strategy and category roles.
• Coordinate with banners and internal teams on new product listings, relistings and delistings for assigned accounts.
• Ensure effective execution of launches in stores, including availability, pricing and visibility.
5. Planning & Forecasting
• Execute aligned annual sales forecasts and activity plans for assigned Modern Trade accounts.
• Build and provide reliable forecasts by SKU and by banner, considering promotions, listings, seasonality and agreed activity plans.
• Ensure timely and accurate forecast updates in coordination with Demand Planning and Supply Chain.
6. Budget & Financial Follow-up
• Support accurate budget planning and cost control for assigned Modern Trade accounts, in line with Ferrero guidelines and approved plans.
• Track trade spend and financial performance versus budget, and proactively flag deviations or risks.
• Collaborate closely with Finance on account reconciliations, debit and credit notes, deductions and follow-up of customer payments.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with commercial policies and financial processes.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with the Modern Trade Field Team to ensure strong in-store execution, timely implementation of agreements and rapid correction of execution gaps.
• Collaborate with Trade Marketing to activate brand plans and ensure excellence in store.
• Work with Marketing to ensure launch readiness, product visibility and brand consistency.
• Partner with Finance to track budgets, payments and profitability.
• work closely with Customer Service to ensure order follow-up.
Experience:
• Mandatory: Proven experience in the Modern Trade channel, including direct management of key retail banners or previous experience with a banner.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in sales or key account management roles within FMCG.
• Solid exposure to commercial negotiations, promotional planning and customer performance management.
Education:
• Min. Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, sales or Marketing
Skills:
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluency in French, English and Arabic.
