Ferrero USA, a leading global confectionery manufacturer with a strong track record of innovations and a great reputation for the quality of its products, is looking for an Electro-Mechanic Technician to support our Production Operations team. Must be available to train on 1st shift if needed.  The position will work out of our Somerset, NJ factory location and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

The primary responsibility of the Electro-Mechanic Technician is to manage, repair and maintain production equipment in our Somerset, NJ repackaging facility. This role requires an individual which excels in troubleshooting production equipment problems as well as proactively preventing issues delaying or preventing production of the company’s products.

  • Repair, maintain, install and change over production packaging machines and lines.  
  • Troubleshoot packaging machine problems and make necessary repairs in a timely manner.   
  • Perform preventive maintenance on packaging machines and conveyors.  
  • Recommend improvements and modifications to production operations/machines. 
  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks following standards and schedules. This includes lubrication, adjustments and cleaning. 
  • Perform Electrical repairs to machinery. 
  • Install/repair sensors, switches, eyes, etc. as needed on production lines.
  • Understand PLC logic. 
  • Perform facility electrical work (light installations and repairs, conduit, replace bulbs and fuses, etc. ) 
  • Support new line installations. 
  • Test or recommend new equipment in the electronic field.
  • Follow GMPs and Safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management
  • Perform general plant maintenance duties and other duties as assigned (facility-related tasks as needed). 
  • Perform assigned electronic and additional duties as assigned.
  • Perform other minor mechanical skills as required.
  • High School degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with high-speed packaging equipment, systems and conveyors. 
  • Knowledge of electrical installations, PLC controllers, sensors, etc.) 
  • Experience in LOTO training.
  • Detailed knowledge of Robotics.
  • Working knowledge of motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, programmable controllers, servo drives, electronic components, facility installations (pneumatic, electrical installs), and mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
  • Proficient at operating machine shop and welding equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting robotics.
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor-lifts, and power pallet jacks.
  • Ability to be flexible and work with a positive attitude.
  • Experience with efficient line changeovers (packaging machines, conveyors, etc.)

This is a non-exempt, salaried position and may occasionally offer overtime work options.

The base salary range for this position is $35-$40 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
