The Senior Legal Counsel position is a key strategic role providing comprehensive legal leadership across Canada and supporting critical Brand and Compliance initiatives throughout the North America (NAM) region, including the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. This role serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring legal integrity while enabling business growth and safeguarding Ferrero’s interests.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
Support all Canadian legal matters, including corporate governance, commercial contracts, litigation, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and food law.
• Advise on Brand & Compliance Across NAM
Support marketing, advertising, and regulatory compliance for brand initiatives throughout North America (U.S., Canada, Caribbean). Drive compliance governance and risk management programs regionally.
• Compliance Leadership
Design and deliver compliance training, monitor regulatory developments, and lead risk assessments on key topics (e.g., anti-bribery, antitrust, privacy). Conduct investigations and recommend remediation as needed.
• Governance & Policy Deployment
Implement Group and Area legal strategies, policies, and standards in Canada. Serve as Corporate Secretary and ensure strong governance practices.
• Enable Business & Manage Risk
Partner with leadership teams to align business objectives with legal and regulatory requirements. Develop best practices and compliance programs to protect Ferrero’s reputation and assets.
• Litigation & Dispute Resolution
Manage Canadian litigation and coordinate with external counsel. Provide proactive advice to prevent disputes and mitigate risks.
• Cross-Functional Partnership
Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, industrial, finance, P&O, and other teams to enable compliant business operations.
A strategic, business-oriented legal leader who combines deep legal expertise with strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence decision-making at the highest levels.
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience as in-house counsel or in a leading law firm, with a focus on advising senior management and shaping legal strategy.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution; admission to the bar in a Canadian province required; U.S. licensure preferred.
- Background in Food Law, Intellectual Property, Advertising & Marketing Law, Data Protection (Canada), and Corporate Law.
- Ability to anticipate risks, design compliance frameworks, and align legal solutions with business objectives across multiple jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing outcomes in a complex, matrixed organization.

The base salary range for this position is $115,215 - $153,620 CAD annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
