About the Role:

The Director of eCommerce Strategy and Innovation will be part of an exciting and transformative eCommerce team within Ferrero USA.  We are looking for a skilled and experienced eCommerce strategist to help drive the Ferrero eCommerce roadmap and lead the progress on evolving the core capabilities that will enable our long-term success.

This role will report into and operate as the Chief of Staff of the Vice President of eCommerce, focused on driving the eCommerce strategy for the total US market and manage several large projects from concept, test & learn to full roll-out, in close collaboration with multiple cross-functional teams. S/He will be a key influencer in business decision-making with our Leadership, Customers, Brand Teams and other support functions like Supply Chain and IT. It will also drive connectivity between global initiatives to US implementation.

This position is hybrid, and will be based out of our North American HQ in Parsippany, NJ

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supports the eCommerce Channel VP on strategy development and enabling execution by cascading and coordinating with the broader eCommerce team and other cross-functional teams (Marketing / Brands, Trade Marketing, Category Management, IT, Global teams)
  • Build executive level presentations to elevate the Ferrero US eCommerce strategy and influence cross-functional leadership, both US and Global, to secure support needed to deliver the long-term growth plan 
  • Present a strong POV on eCommerce evolution and drive the innovation roadmap for the Ferrero eCommerce capabilities needed to achieve our digital penetration KPIs and market share goals
  • Leverage eCommerce expertise and strong BI & Digital Shelf Analytics skills to develop actionable business insights, identify gaps and opportunities, and drive the expected sales growth with the cross-functional teams

STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

  • Continue to evolve the eCommerce Digital Shelf Framework (Playbook) based on current trends (consumer behavior, channel shifts, retailer capabilities development etc.)  and work with the customer teams to ensure that is being implemented across all channels.
  • Develop the top-down eCommerce Sales Target for the US market based on average category growth expectations, channel priorities and internal growth initiatives. Work with the broader eCommerce team (Customer teams, Retail Media, Content) to ensure the bottom-up annual plans are aligned with the top-down target and monitor progress throughout the year to meet our FY Sales objectives.
  • Own the Digital Shelf KPIs framework, setting the benchmarks and measurement capabilities to drive visibility to missed opportunities. 
  • Drives the price/pack architecture strategy for eCommerce with cross-functional stakeholders (Brands/TM/Global teams) to continue building the long-term portfolio pipeline 
  • Drive eCommerce Upskilling across organization, working with Global team, Ferrero University to continually train the organization across eCommerce & Digital Shelf modules. 

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

  • Own the consolidated eCommerce sales reporting (Weekly, Monthly, Annual) across all eCommerce channels / customers (Amazon/Pure Play, Omnichannel, Quick Commerce, eB2B), identify variances vs Sales Target and category/top competitors’ performance, work back with the eCommerce customer teams to identify opportunities to close the gaps
  • Own the Digital Shelf Analytics capabilities development and drive cross-functional team education / adoption within their daily business routines. Share best practices on utilizing the Digital Shelf KPIs to drive business insights that lead to sales growth
  • Manage internal and external resources (data providers, BI/IT implementation partners) to develop the eCommerce Performance Automated Dashboard solution

HUMAN RESOURCES & VENDORS MANAGEMENT

  • Own talent strategy and capability within the eCommerce Strategy team; improve bench strength and performance across the sales organization
  • Manage, coach and assist team members in setting objectives for dedicated retailers; set and monitor KPIs – lead a team of 2-4 associates
  • Manage external eCommerce vendors contracts/POs, relationship management (e.g. Digital Shelf Management and Analytics, 3P sellers, content syndication etc.)

Who we are looking for:

  • 7- 10 years relevant experience across Sales, eCommerce, Digital Retail Marketing
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • E-Commerce Experience required
  • Digital Shelf strategy and analytics required
  • Amazon experience preferred; Ability to influence traditional Food/Mass customers preferred
  • eCategory Management preferred
  • Previous experience managing a team preferred
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Experience with eCommerce ops tools preferred (e.g. Commerce IQ, Salsify, Pacvue etc.)
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Position requires travel (20% of the time)

Compensation Data

The base salary range for this position is $170,000 - $225,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
