Implement the Group's policy on public and government affairs and external communications in the SAM Region, providing high quality Institutional Affairs & Corporate Communication services. Develop and maintain relations with local authorities, institutions, communities and media / press agencies aimed at creating and maintaining a favourable public image for the Company,even on a digital side. Represent the Group’s interests in dealings with trade, industry and Government for professional organizations. Coordinate various events, promote and participate in community programs and perform other activities to improve the Group's image and reputation. Being a member of the Leadership team, he/she leads the transversal Corporate Social Responsibility program (including donations and partnerships) coherently with the defined Group guidelines and fully integrated with the local implementation. manages the crisis process according to Group guidelines and policy.

  • Establish and maintain interaction with public officials as well as with other institutions also through associations and organizations on issues of interest to the Ferrero Company.
  • Establish and direct effective external, public and government communication approach throughout the Region in order to protect the interest of the Company, developing and maintaining public trust and cooperation.
  • Leader of strategic planning for institutional and governmental relations / advocacy strategy for critical business issues at regional level.
  • Engaging with stakeholders of different types (government, civil society, academia, associations, diplomacy, etc.) to promote the defense of corporate interests while limiting negative public policy outcomes.
  • Advise, implement, participate in associations relevant to Ferrero's interest. Serve as a link to various interest groups / multidisciplinary projects. Develop and maintain credible relationships and approaches with authorities, nongovernmental organizations, and Ferrero stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage and monitor proposals, initiatives, legislation and/or regulations enacted and/or in force on the food industry throughout the region and internationally to find trends of interest that could negatively impact Ferrero's business.
  • The company's representative in public spheres of government, as well as in trade associations, associations and federations.
  • Understand and evaluate scenarios and the governmental/political environment in the assigned region and act in monitoring and influencing legislative decisions.
  • Direct the charitable contributions and community involvement of the Company in Region / Country initiatives in full compliance with company policies. Manages and implements partnerships with NGO’s and sport associations;
  • Manage the relations with selected sustainability organization/institutions (NGO’s, governmental institutions and Customers,…) Proposes and coordinates the partnership, sponsorship and patronage initiatives at Region level (Kinder+ sport, VIF…), promoting the Corporate reputation;
  • Supports the development of CSR & Sustainability Projects and oversees the projects carried on by the Sustainability professional family in the various functions, guaranteeing the coherence of different initiatives and promoting the change management;
  • Manages the communication towards external parties in an integrated way, with clear and official statements, by establishing strong positive relationships with all relevant stakeholders - media, consumer groups, NGO’s, industrial / category associations, Local communities - that are in a position to impact the Company’s public image. Act as a spokesperson for the Region, supporting the Region Manager Supports the internal Crisis process and implement crisis communications for events occurring at Region level Write press releases and Corporate communications, following Group guidelines Manage overall media / press relations for institutional / online and offline Corporate purposes and issues (i.e. Corporate Social Responsibility, Nutrition, Safety, etc.)
  • Develop, execute and follow up all the above activities in full compliance with appropriate policies regarding charitable giving, contracts, impartiality etc and with the highest standards of transparency.
  • Degree in public policy, political science, international relations or related areas with an Master level degree.
  • Extensive experience in public policy, legislative, government affairs, and corporate communications roles, gained in corporate, association, or governmental contexts, preferably within the food and confectionery industry. 
  • Solid background and proven track record in crisis management, CSR, advocacy, sustainability, media relations, and government affairs.
  • Demonstrated experience in international advocacy project management, including activities outside Brazil and in key diplomatic hubs. 
  • Demonstrated experience in media relations and communications. Solid network with local and international media platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with industry associations and international/regional organizations (e.g., confectionery and food associations, advertisers associations, investment and development banks, Mercosur, PAH. 
  • Prior experience in public policy and/or external communications environment and/or governmental institutions in Latin American countries is a plus.
  • Possess strong judgment, creativity in problem-solving, and the ability to operate both independently and as a collaborative team player.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively within multicultural and diverse organizations, showing appreciation for different working styles and business cultures.
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
  • Proactive, time-sensitive, results-driven mindset: thorough and meticulous while able to prioritize effectively, focusing on the important over the merely urgent.
  • Strategic coomunications skills as well as capability in implementing global comms guidelines at regional level in line with corporate guidelines, content and tone of voice.
  • Proven track record in media relation, external communication and experience with traditional and social media amplification proactive and reactive initiatives.
  • Previous experience in regional and global headquarters roles is a plus.
