Production Supervisor
We have a current opening for a Production Supervisor/ Maintenance Shift Support - Cocoa and are actively reviewing applications.
The Production Shift Supervisor/ Maintenance Shift Support is responsible for coordinating production activities during the shift to ensure safe, efficient, and high quality execution of operations. The role ensures the availability and effective use of people, materials, and equipment, in line with production plans and UGP Manager guidelines.
When the Day Shift Maintenance Supervisor is not present, the role provides operational maintenance oversight, coordinating planned and unplanned interventions to support equipment reliability and plant continuity.
Schedule:
12 hour Continental Shift, alternating bi-weekly between Day Shift (7am-7pm) and Night shift (7pm-7am)
Production & Shift Execution
• Coordinate production line activities to meet safety, quality, and performance targets.
• Ensure smooth line start ups, changeovers, and shift handovers.
• Monitor production progress and authorize production slowdowns or stops when required.
• Ensure accurate end of shift reporting and production declarations (SAP).
Resource & Material Management
• Ensure availability of packaging, raw materials, and semi finished products.
• Manage picking lists, inventory accuracy, and proper material returns.
• Optimize the use of manpower, materials, and equipment during the shift.
People & Safety Leadership
• Allocate operators to lines and ensure adequate coverage.
• Support absenteeism management and day to day personnel matters.
• Promote safe behaviors and ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and food safety standards.
• Manage workplace incidents and accidents in coordination with Health & Safety and HR.
Maintenance Coordination
• Request and coordinate maintenance interventions in case of breakdowns or urgent issues.
• Support preventive and autonomous maintenance activities during the shift.
• Verify maintenance execution, safety compliance, and proper handover of open issues.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to support equipment reliability.
Quality, Food Safety & Compliance
• Ensure execution of quality checks, sampling, and operator self controls.
• Support hygiene, sanitation, HACCP, GMP, and ISO compliance on the shift.
• Collaborate with Quality on inspections and corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement & Lean (FOX 2.0)
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Manufacturing (FOX).
• Lead daily SIM (Short Interval Management) meetings.
• Monitor performance KPIs and support problem solving activities at shift level.
- Minimum of 3-year experience in a leadership capacity in a manufacturing setting
- Strong inter-personal skills, and ability to work in a matrix system
- Demonstrated ability to direct production and maintenance employees in a proactive and positive manner
- Knowledge of production processes, machinery, and performance indicators
- Understanding of safety, quality, hygiene, and food safety standards
- Experience with production planning, materials management, and KPIs
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a rotating shift environment
- Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office tools

The base salary range for this position is $72,000-$96,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
