About the Role:
We currently have a new and exciting role, for a Learning and Development specialist in Alfreton reporting to the Talent Manager for United Kingdom and Ireland. The L&D Specialist will have a proven experience in L&D preferably in the consumer goods industry, you will be an exceptional communicator that builds relationships and promotes trust and confidence in our Ferrero employees. You will have a passion for employee learning, development and education.
The L&D specialist will work on a variety of talent projects, implement, and coordinate the further development of training offers locally with a strong focus on on-line and virtual formats, Ferrero university academies and employee’s development tools while delivering training and running events related to L&D.

In this role you will manage the provision and delivery of all learning and development activity for Ferrero employees based at our Alfreton site where we make our Thornton’s chocolates. The role will be both strategic and hands on, allowing you to full control of the learning cycle.
In this role you will be part of the Alfreton HR team, but you will also be part of the wider talent team. So, whilst you will manage and own the training for Alfreton as the subject matter expert, you will also belong to the Talent team, where you will be able to bounce ideas, share knowledge. and innovation. The role is varied, you will be working managing the apprenticeship programme, create in-house training courses and workshops on various topics and areas. You will also be working on larger projects and working with external agencies and providers. Your opinions, your views will be valued from day one. Some of the key areas you will be focused on are as follows:
- Manage and own the full training life cycle from start to finish for Alfreton operations’ employees.
- Management of LMS, the Learning Management System - Produce regular reports associated with KPIs such as budget, ROI, learning hours, activity and use of the LMS.
- Management of Alfreton Industrial training budget that are kept in line with Talent strategy and business needs.
- Deliver training through a variety of formats and tools and continuously support with finding new solutions and ideas for developing talent.
- Build on training plans that are clearly aligned to and support the business objectives.
- Coordinate statutory and mandatory compliance training in order to meet legislative and internal requirements for the business
- Liaise with HR Industrial team to ensure the successful onboarding of the candidate
Who we are looking for:
The L&D Specialist must have proven experience in L&D preferably in the consumer goods industry and manufacturing operations, must be an exceptional communicator that builds relationships which promote trust and confidence and must have a passion for employee learning, development and education. Should be data driven, confident with technology and digital tools, organised and have an eye for detail.
We are looking for candidates that are degree qualified, ideally with CIPD or L&D qualification. Proficient in Microsoft Office application and have Knowledge of Success Factor Learning Management system, as well as understanding of the learning cycle.
