About the Role:

The purpose of the Associate Category Manager position is to analyse Customer and Market data to derive category insights, develop recommendations to improve Sales and Profit for the Category, and value for the Customer and Ferrero, by focusing on category influencers, such as assortment, activity and point of purchase. The Associate Category Manager will support creating the selling story from category fundamentals and making recommendations on; promotions, pricing, assortment, SKU rationalization and planograms.  Additionally, the Associate Category Manager will have a focus on eCommerce through managing and monitoring The Digital Shelf, search engine optimization and developing business insights and strategies through shipments, ePOS and shopper insights.

This position is located at 100 Sheppard Ave. East, North York, Ontario.

Main Responsibilities:

Category Analysis
• Analyze Category information, facts, KPIs, data etc. and recommend strategies to grow Category, Customer and Ferrero sales and profit for all categories.
• Manages Sell In & Sell Out, POS and ePOS process, including data analysis, insights and strategic actions
• Synthesize ideas, and recommendations and present key findings in various contexts.
• Responsible for the development of customized assortment and planogram recommendations for our key customers
• Planogram and shelving Centre of Excellence for the respective portfolio
• Support customer analysis on performance, including identifying opportunities & risks using the Customer POS data and Nielsen.
• Support customer teams by identifying performance monitoring metrics & targets.
• Support VP Sales and VP Trade Marketing on various presentations and projects related to category insights, recommendations and reporting.

Category Management Process
• Lead the development and implementation of the Category Management process including scorecards to monitor business performance ongoing and identify opportunities for growth.
• Integrate Category Management Review into Category Business Planning Process.
• Share learnings, insights, knowledge and information with sales team to assist in building their overall category insights acumen 

Category Management Development
• Work collaboratively with CSU, IT and finance to contribute towards the development of Category Management capabilities at Ferrero, including data, software and systems.
• Enhancement / development & maintenance; JDA software, Pulse Sell in/Sell Out interface suite and Profitero including eContent management

eCommerce Management and Development
• Manage the Digital Shelf scorecard including monthly action list to ensure our eContent continually meets our best in class and industry standards
• Identify efficiencies and tactics to drive increased conversation rates with Pureplay and Omnichannel
• Create opportunities to fuel channel growth of our products and categories
• Lead business insights, scorecarding and strategy for eCommerce including Range, eMedia and channel development
• Maintain and leverage Amazon Sales and Share to develop strategic insights into the Chocolate category to grow Ferrero’s share within Amazon

Who we are looking for:

• 4-7 years of experience in Trade Marketing preferrably in CPG
• Knowledge and experience with Syndicated Data (Nielsen Market Track, Homescan Panel Data).
• Knowledge of customer strategies as they pertain to Category Management, Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, Pricing and Promotion 
• Understanding of Customer Marketing and Category Management roles.
• Understanding of category influencers: assortment, activity, point of purchase.
• Understanding of the FMCG/CPG industry, trends and environment.
• Knowledge and experience with JDA planogram – preferred.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Developed presentation skills.
• Ability to set objectives and achieve goals.
• Ability to problem solve and set priorities (multitask).
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Ability to translate category and shopper insights into programs to build volume and profit.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data, trends, patterns and derive valued insights.
• Ability to work effectively with others, as well as the ability to work independently without guidance and multitask in a team environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate (written and orally) in both a one-to-one and group environment.
