About the Role:

The person in this role will be responsible for effective delivery at up to ten Co-Pack/Re-Pack locations across the USA. They will be responsible developing and implementing effective packaging sourcing strategies, and lead make vs buy decisions, to optimize packaging costs and obsolescence risk.  cost saving measures at 3rd party locations and drafting and managing contracts ensuring performance of the supplier to contract obligations.

Main Responsibilities:

o    Define team goals and priorities
o    Support the development of team members by providing guidance and training
o    Identify risks and issues, suggest alternatives that lead to the best solution
o    Drive supplier relationship management through regular communication with the supplier and business reviews
o    Identify any cost saving measures at 3rd party locations
o    Ensure quality requirements are met
o    Ensure packaging and bulk materials are available for CoPack/RePack
o    Ensure inventory accuracy and availability in all 3PL locations
o    Rationalize and monitor SLA's/KPI's of 3PLs
o    Review the results of pertinent audits and take corrective actions as needed
o    Understand available capacity line processes and troubleshoot production line layouts for efficiencies and quality concerns
o    Coordinate with Production Planner and 3rd party management to align on future production needs
o    Maintain SKU production start dates and track all relevant deliveries in order to meet the start date; schedule and lead meeting with 3rd parties and internal stakeholder to get deliveries completed
Obsolete material management: 
o    Review obsolete materials reports, work to reduce the amount/value of waste material
o    Monitor inventory alignment, analyze and resolve discrepancies 
Production declaration alignment: 
o    Check production declarations against 3rd party reports; analyze and resolve disprepancies

Contracting and negotiation:
o    Draft and manage contracts ensuring performance of the supplier to contract obligations
o    Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly checked into and securely maintained in organizational databases
o    Develop business relationships with contract manufacturers
o    Monitor agreements throughout the contract life cycle for price increases, product launches, appropriate approvals, expirations, etc.
o    Utilize negotiations to maximize value and cost savings benefit while lowering risk
o    Review contractual performance of both parties to ensure compliance with terms and to Identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution at contract renewal
Financial analysis:
o    Budget tracking
o    Ensure invoice accuracy for all contract manufactures
o    Responsible for line efficiency and turnkey costs STD vs ACT
o    Assist with 3rd party budgeting process
o    US co-packing network budgeting process
o    Invoicing and costing analysis
o    Identify and implement an effective packaging sourcing strategy to optimize packaging costs and obsolescence risk
Project management:
o    Oversee project groups for the development and launch of new products
o    Coordinate new product launches between 3rd Party Copacker, Packaging Development, Planning and Cost Accounting
o    Collaborate with stakeholders to define SLA's and KPI’s for suppliers
o    Conduct presentations to internal stakeholders and business reviews with 3PLs
o    Project escalations
o    Propose opportunities to expand capabilities and/or capacity for volume growth
o    Perform business process analysis and develop models to improve cost
o    Assess contract manufacturers for their ability to manufacture finished good products within the requirements of the company

Who we are looking for:

  • 8 – 12 years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree required
  • The person in this role should be familiar and comfortable working in a production environment.
