About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and intellectually curious Senior Brand Manager for Kinder Bueno, to deliver upon our vision to be a top brand in the competitive and highly fragmented Chocolate Bar segment in the US. Kinder Bueno is already the number one brand in Chocolate Bars in Europe and will be a key pillar and sub-brand within the Kinder Masterbrand in the US. 

The Senior Brand Manager, Kinder Bueno will report to the VP Marketing, Kinder Bueno and Snacking Innovation and will work remotely during COVID restrictions until normal operations resume at our US headquarters in Parsippany, NJ. 

The focus of this role is to establish the unique selling proposition for the newly launched Kinder Bueno brand while ensuring that the brand drives category incrementality and wins share in the US by:

  1. Defining the five-year vision for Kinder Bueno 
  2. Building the annual brand plans 
  3. Working closely with the global team to deliver the US agenda 
  4. Leading the agency partners and cross-functional team in equity building and delivering volume driving initiatives
  5. Defining long term pipeline and prepare for launches
  6. Working with the Kinder Joy team on cross-brand initiatives to continue to build the Kinder Masterbrand
  7. Develop and coach one direct report to deliver upon brand goals, and ensure they grow into a well-rounded marketer

Main Responsibilities:

  • Determine short-term and long-term Brand Strategy for Kinder Bueno
  • Develop and execute annual brand plans, tracking results and course-correcting as needed
  • Translate local market knowledge and needs into innovation/product development pipeline and assortment strategies, collaborating with Global innovation and US cross-functional teams to deliver
  • Develop, validate and gain internal alignment for all elements of the marketing mix: concepts, claims, price, promotion and financials
  • Lead communications plans, advertising development, go-to-market execution and investment strategy across traditional and non-traditional media including Digital, Social, Influencer, ensuring that the brand’s premium positioning and unique proposition is established in the US market
  • Create and present communications briefs to agencies/partners, test and approve all brand materials across paid/owned/earned
  • Conduct Quantitative and Qualitative market research in collaboration with Consumer Insights manager 
  • On-going market & business analysis and key initiatives tracking
  • Responsible for P&L management, leading development of brand financial plans, the annual financial planning process, S&OP demand review meetings and accountable for approving the brand forecast, budget management and T&E for the team
  • Support Trade Marketing to translate brand strategy and business growth plans into Channel & Customer plans with agreed KPIs
  • Engage with Trade Marketing, Category Management, Sales, Marketing Ops & Supply Chain to support planning and execution of initiatives to secure financial commitments
  • Able to efficiently manage relations with third party vendors (i.e.: graphic design agencies, creative agency, PR agency, media agency, etc.)
  • Build a high performing and engaged team, through coaching, team and individual development, regular feedback and quarterly performance discussions
  • Actively build and foster relationships with Global Marketing team and Kinder Joy team 

Who we are looking for:

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business; Master’s degree in Business is a plus
  • 8+ years US CPG marketing experience 
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working on a regional team /in a business unit within a global organization is a must 
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Strong results-orientation, action-oriented
  • Passionate about brands and consumer understanding
  • Motivational Leader - Strong team building and leadership skills with the ability to motivate those around him/her to get the best out of them and the business 
  • Good balance between marketing strategy and commercial understanding -Resilient, agile and adaptable with strong self-awareness and sense of curiosity
  • Additional experience in Shopper & Customer Marketing/ Trade Marketing/Category Management or Sales is a plus
  • Nielsen and/or IRI experience 
  • Ability to travel as business requires (no more than 20%) with occasional international travel


  • Strong strategic thinking balanced with attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively lead a team and influence business partners
  • Ability to build and manage a portfolio of products that addresses needs of all key channels of trade (Convenience, Food, Drug, Mass, Club, E-commerce)
  • Omni-channel and Pure Play channel development experience
  • Experience building plans utilizing Traditional Media as well as Digital, Social and Influencer is a must
  • Critical thinker with the ability to analyze market, business & consumer trends and proactively translate them into focused strategies and action plans
  • Experience in financial analysis and strong skillset in P&L, SOI, and Budget management
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to see initiatives through and trouble-shoot as needed
