About the Role:

Ferrero is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled Payroll Manager to become a part of our team  - looking after the payroll for Ferrero and FBC. In this role, you will report directly to the Head of HR Support Centre. The primary focus of this position is to oversee the management of our outsourced payroll provider at Ferrero. This entails handling daily queries, reconciling monthly input and output, ensuring the smooth execution of payroll by the provider, and effectively monitoring the provider's performance against established KPIs.

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager with a solid understanding of pay-related processes, procedures, and legal requirements. Attention to detail and a data-driven approach are integral to this role. Central to your responsibilities is the supervision of our external payroll partner, making prior experience in managing third-party providers a crucial asset.

To thrive in this role, you should possess a comprehensive understanding of payroll operations, be well-versed in anticipating the expectations from a third-party provider, and be adept at driving excellence while measuring and communicating their performance outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the key responsibility of effectively managing the outsourced payroll provider to ensure high standards and service quality. Moreover, you will be tasked with completing relevant forms and reports for HMRC or pay-related purposes. Your interactions will extend internally, involving collaboration with HR, finance, and assisting internal customers who require guidance in handling and directing queries. With a direct report under your supervision, successful candidates are expected to bring strong supervisory and management skills to the table, in addition to the following:

  • Ensuring the outsourced payroll provider accurately maintains payroll information and data input.
  • Thoroughly reviewing changes to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Generating reports from the payroll system to validate the precision of the payroll process.
  • Conducting reconciliation of the BACS process before finalising the payroll.
  • Assisting in reconciling and resolving finance-related queries to address payroll discrepancies.
  • Managing the reconciliation and loading of pension contributions onto pension company platforms.
  • Providing necessary information to third parties as required.
  • Addressing questions and requests by furnishing pertinent payroll information.
  • Taking charge of writing and updating policies and procedures to uphold payroll guidelines.
  • Upholding employee confidence and ensuring the security of payroll operations by maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • A central aspect of this role involves data checking and comprehensive analytical analysis.

Who we are looking for:

Successful candidates should possess a meticulous attention to detail and a high level of proficiency in efficiently managing and creating spreadsheets. You should also hold a degree qualification and demonstrate extensive experience as a Payroll Manager, particularly in effectively overseeing outsourced payroll providers.

Flexibility in responding to urgent requests and meeting tight deadlines is crucial. Additionally, you should exhibit the capability to establish strong relationships with stakeholders.

A comprehensive understanding of the SAP system is essential. Lastly, attention to detail and adeptness in contract management are vital attributes for this role.
