About the Role:
Industrial Electrical Technicians provides electrical support to the Maintenance and Engineering Teams. Candidates will install, maintain, and repair electrical/ electronic systems, equipment, and parts, such as electro-mechanical components, field devices, and control panel devices. This position requires extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations.
They must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient. The work of Industrial Technicians can often be physically demanding. In order to install and repair equipment, they may need to crawl, climb, and stand for extended periods of time. They must also be able to safely operate tools in close proximity to live electrical components.
Industrial Electrical technicians must also be able to understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as blueprints, relay logic, schematics, and instructions. They will work extensively with instrumentation, AC/DC drives, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
They must also be motivated to work on their own and as part of a
team. Strong communication skills are a necessary part of this position.
Main Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain multiple electrical systems plant-wide.
Monitor performance of process control systems, packaging machinery and facilities equipment.
Utilizes computerized maintenance management system to maintain accurate equipment histories and capture work activities.
Works closely with the E&I Lead Technician and PCIS Systems Engineer to complete plant projects, maintain E&I best practices, and implement equipment replacement and upgrades.
Works with electrical contractors to support critical work completed throughout the plant.
Participates in safety inspections and identifying and correcting hazards.
Perform quality testing and inspections.
Maintains test equipment, lab equipment and computer systems.
Maintains reference materials, manuals and prints with the Maintenance and Engineering departments.
Maintains safe working practices and conditions adhering to codes and plant standards.
Maintains housekeeping and Good Manufacturing Practices in the bakery.
Who we are looking for:
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical skills.
Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment (motors, motor control, drives, actuators, sensors)
Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
Technical knowledge of plant control systems.
5 years of job-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc
Preferred Qualifications
Journeyman experience or the completion of an apprenticeship program.
Instrumentation training and experience.
Associates degree in Electronic/Electro-mechanical Technologies or equivalent experience of 7 years of job-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Formal training in Allen Bradley PLC’s and Rockwell software (Troubleshooting and Interfacing with systems)
Robotics, Servo and/or mechatronics training and experience.
