About the Role:
As the Logistics Manager at Ferrero, you would be responsible for managing all logistics activities for the Australian Business Unit. This will include managing a team of two to ensure that all 3PL suppliers of transport and warehousing, and ensuring accuracy of inventory is maintained.
You will ensure continuity of product supply, quality, and support of the company’s freshness objectives, inventory policy, warehouse occupancy, and warehousing and transport cost. The primary focus will be to lead, develop and build the team’s knowledge, as well as communicate and develop expectations to ensure that service levels are exceeded.
You will work with an array of internal stakeholders, such as Customer Service, Planning, Marketing and Sales to provide the right stock, right shelf life, right quantity and at the right time.
You will be key in developing and implementing the logistics strategy through assessing and allocating resources to support the business. This will include creating the warehousing strategy to optimise operation capabilities and minimise risks. Transportation and imports strategy will need to be executed and assessed for performance, costs, and value add, and be reported on.
Following the group guidelines, you will ensure that processes such as inventory counts, FEFO rules, destructions, donations, and returns are executed correctly. You will manage 3PLs, including performance reviews, KPI assessments, improvement requests and cost controls. You will be managing the inbound, storage, handling, picking and outbound activities to ensure stock consistency at a batch level.
You will have 2 permanent direct reports to support and coach. You will be responsible for setting objectives, ensuring that goals are met, and training is undertaken to develop their logistics skills.
Cost management of logistics will fall under your remit and you will need to ensure costs are in line with objectives for warehousing, imports, distribution and any 3PL costs. You will need to review vendor costs to ensure they are compliant and competitive. If there are overspends, you will implement root cause analysis and create a plan to mitigate risks.
As the Logistics Manager, you will also ensure the quality and safety of Ferrero and our partners in line with policies and guidelines. You will lead the WHS audits, define targets for continuous improvements, and assess to improve safety.
Who we are looking for:
You are a degree qualified logistics professional with strong knowledge of operations, including 3PL management, transport, warehousing, imports, and inventory management. You will be confident in using Microsoft Office and SAP ECC, and have strong project management skills.
You will be goal orientated and have the ability to lead a team and influence stakeholders internally and externally. You will be an excellent problem solver and be able to balance operational aspects with business priorities.
