About the Role:

For our Ferrero Headquarters we are looking for an Area Health & Safety Manager to join our Health & Safety (H&S) team to supervise and guarantee the implementation of the Group’s objectives and policies in the Area both for commercial and industrial aspects. Together with relevant stakeholders, the you will define Area priorities and coordinate the Regions in the definition of an action plan aimed at the implementation of Group objectives and guidelines. You will report periodically to the Area Management on H&S performance and activities in the Area (e.g. leading and lagging H&S KPI’s, learnings for accidents, progress on H&S projects) and on the risk mitigation plan implementation status.

Main Responsibilities:

As an Area H&S Manager, you will coordinate regional and local H&S in the development of an organization able to support company vision and plans; cascade Group H&S objectives, initiatives and programs across the Area and define Area H&S objectives, initiatives, and activities, consistently with Group priorities.

In addition, you will guarantee systems are in place to ensure compliance with regulatory and group requirements of the Ferrero organization and ensure appropriate corrective action plans are put in place for all non-compliances identified and systematically followed to closure.

You will provide direction and advice to Local and Regional H&S as well as line managers and other stakeholders as needed and facilitate cross-country interaction by identifying and sharing best practices.

In the H&S risk assessment, you will identify key H&S risks across the countries in the region and guarantee a coherent mitigation plan across the Area in order to prevent injuries or adverse health impacts to employees. Furthermore, you will supervise the implementation of agreed mitigation activities and report to Area Management and Group H&S manager on implementation status.

You will be the H&S referent for Area Management; collaborating with stakeholders to continually develop and raise awareness on H&S topics; routinely meeting with Area management and ensure legal reporting requirements (e.g. accident notification) are fulfilled; and all H&S related licenses, notification, reporting requirements are met, and related documents are maintained.

Furthermore, you will support the implementation of the Wellbeing program in the Area, in accordance with Group requirements and in coordination with the Wellbeing program coordinator.

Who we are looking for:


  • Degree in Safety Management or related field;
  • At least 15 years of working experience in a Health & Safety Engineer or Manager position;
  • Deep knowledge of best practices in Health & Safety topics relevant to the FMCG industry;
  • Must be able to communicate with management as well as with employees of all levels in the organization to help ensure clear understanding of Company HSE guidelines, rules, policy, and procedures;
  • Strong interpersonal abilities;
  • Proven project management skills.

 IT Skills:

  • Good knowledge of MS Office.


  • Fluent in English;
  • Any additional language is considered a plus.
