In 2006 I was given the wonderful opportunity to join the Ferrero USA team in the Supply Chain department as Logistics Manager. At the time, Ferrero USA was about to make a major change in their distribution network. All warehouse and transportation services would now be transitioned to a Third Party Logistics provider (3PL) and the task to manage the change would be monumental.
During the interview process I was especially impressed with the explanation of the Ferrero values. Each Ferrero employee with whom I talked displayed a true sense and feeling about the Company's values. Many companies have a list of "values" but it was clear that Ferrero instilled those values in their employees.
Knowing that the transition would create a great challenge, I was initially concerned that the job would be too much to manage. However, it became obvious that one of the facets of Ferrero was to encourage change and to support challenging environments. This support made me realize that the company would understand the changing environment and support those who were working to make the change happen.
The international culture presented by Ferrero was very interesting to me. My previous experience afforded me the opportunity to travel to many countries and work with many cultures. I found it a great learning experience and looked forward to once again having the same opportunity to work with different and varied cultures and nationalities.
Ferrero's strong values, pride in the quality products we produce and the drive to constantly work for improvement makes me honored to be associated with Ferrero. It is really the best job I have ever had.
